Inaugural Art Newport - 2-Day Fine Art Show & Ball

Art Newport will showcase a wide range of works, from painting and sculpture to photography and mixed media, offering attendees the opportunity to explore diverse artistic expressions. Whether you are an art enthusiast or simply looking for a night of cultural enrichment, this event promises to inspire and delight. The Ostra Fine Arts Ball will commence the weekend on Friday, March 28th from 5:00 to 11:00 PM. The two-day art show will open at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 29th at the Newport Harbor Island Resort, and continue until Sunday, March 30th at 4:00 PM.

Rogue Island Comedy Spring Festival

Started in 2015, RICF is Rhode Island’s only comedy festival, held bi-annually, and produced by native Rhode Islanders Doug Key and Katie Latimer. Red Baraat Festival of Colors

Red Baraat Festival of Colors is an immersive celebration that melds the sounds of the South Asian diaspora with kaleidoscopic visual imagery. Led by dhol player Sunny Jain, Red Baraat has transformed the festive spirit of the Hindu holiday of Holi into a year-round tour of communal revelry that brings together what NPR has called “the best party band in years,” a montage of classic Bollywood visuals, and joyful dancing.

9th Annual Newport Oyster & Chowder Festival

Taste your way around the Ocean State! Sip a refreshing cocktail and enjoy oysters and chowder from local growers and vendors on the waterfront all weekend long. Did you know that RI is home to upwards of 45 oyster farms? The flavors are distinctive to each farm, so this is your chance to savor a sampling of them in one festive atmosphere! Oyster growers will be shucking alongside local restaurants and live music under our striped festival tents. The event is open to the public and all food will be available for purchase directly from vendors. Multiple cash bars will also be on site.

Newport Annual Rhode Races 2025

Join us in the City-by-the-Sea for this stunning marathon, half marathon and 5k. Newport Rhode Races partners with the upcoming Annual Newport Daffodil Days Festival to give you a true Spring Newport Experience. Our courses will pass along many of the over 1,200,000 starting to bloom around the City by the Sea. (We'll call it Dash through the Daffodils!) The Marathon will start at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Easton’s Beach in Newport, RI. The Half Marathon will start at 7:45 a.m. from the same location. The 5k will follow at 8:15 am – all from the same beautiful seaside start.

The Beach Mile will start at noon time, on the beach adjacent to the finish line. It is an out-and-back on Easton's Beach, finishing under the Race Arch. As the race is on the beach, please plan for uneven surfaces, beach debris, seaweed, shells, all those wonderful items that we love about the ocean. This will be part of the challenge of completing the course. The marathon course is USATF certified and is a Boston Marathon Qualifier.

The 68th Annual Newport St. Patrick’s Day Parade kicks off on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Find your best green attire, keep your eyes open for leprechauns, and join in the revelry to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Newport! The parade kicks off from the Newport City Hall at 11:00 AM and runs through Washington Square, down Thames Street, and ends at St. Augustine's Church. Parade will be held rain or shine.

The World's Shortest St. Paddy's Day Parade

The World's Shortest St. Paddy's Day Parade is an annual charity tradition in Adamsville, RI to support local food banks. Our 89 feet parade is the world's shortest but features a big array of floats, live bands, and community groups from across the U.S. Our parade is free but stay afterward for our ticketed live music party and Irish dinner to raise money for charity!
